Whitch or Witch?
Witch
Exemple : ‘’The witch was riding on a broomstick.’’
The noun "witch" is commonly misspelt and spelt in a similar way to the word "which," with an "h" after the "w." It does not have an "h" after the "w" and derives from the Old English word "wiċċe" which had the same meaning as the current word. Tracing the etymology of this word further back we find the Latin word "victima," which meant "a sacrificial victim."
