The word "volcano" is often misspelt with an "e" at the end.This misspelling comes from the vact that the plural of the singular noun "volcano" can be written as both "volcanos" and "volcanoes" and still be correct in both versions. It derives from the Latin "Vulcanus" who was the Roman god of fire.
