"Place" and "plaice" are homonyms and thus are often confused. "Place" is a noun which refers to either an area or a location.
Plaice
Exemple : ‘’I had a lovely piece of plaice at the restaurant last night.’’
"Plaice" is also a noun but is used to denote a type of fish.
