People or Persons?

People
Exemple : ‘’There are a lot of people waiting in the queue.’’
"People" and "persons" are often confused. Generally speaking "people" is the correct way to express the plural of "person."
Persons
Exemple : ‘’Any persons found with contraband substances will be asked to leave.’’
"Persons" is very occasionally used but this is only in extremely formal contexts.
