Jeans or Genes?

The word "jeans" and "genes" are homonyms and are susceptible to confusion. "Jeans" denote an item of clothing worn on the bottom half. The word is always written in the plural form often preceded by the phrase "a pair of."
Exemple : ‘’The illness is caused by your genes.’’
"Genes" are part of our DNA and are passed down to us from our parents.
