Costume

"Costume" and "custom" are two nouns which are often mixed up. A "costume" is something which is worn by actors and actresses or something which was the typical dress at a particular period in history.
Custom
Exemple : ‘’Where I come from it is the custom for people to greet each other with a kiss.’’
A "custom" is something which is traditional to a certain area or is something which is habitual to a specific person. It can also be used in a commercial context to denote the support given to a shop through the customers who continue to shop there.
