Beet or Beat?
Exemple : ‘’I used the beet to feed the animals!’’
The word "beet" and "beat" are homonyms and are often mixed up. A "beet" is something used to make sugar and is often fed to animals. It is a shortened way, used principally in American English, of denoting the word "beetroot."
Exemple : ‘’You beat me at Scrabble last night!’’
To "beat" means "to defeat" and can be used in relation to games but also for example, to illnesses.
