The spelling of the verb "apologise," meaning to say sorry for doing something wrong varies in British English and American English. In British Enlish it is always written with an "s."
Apologize
Exemple : ‘’I told him to apologize for his bad behaviour.’’
In American English the verb is spelt with a "z." There are other words which are spelt with an "s" in British English but a "z" in American English such as "capitalise/ize," and "recognise"/"recognize."
