A couple
Exemple : ‘’There are a couple of tops which I would like to buy.’’
The difference between "a couple" and "a few" is controversial. It is agreed upon that the phrase "a couple" can only refer to two things.
A few
Exemple : ‘’I will be a few minutes late!’’
"A few" has more controversy surrounding the numbers involved. It is agreed that it has to mean at the least three but there is no definition of at what number "a few" should stop being employed.
