The words "waive" and "wave" can be confused due to the fact that they are homonyms. "Waive" is a verb used as a synonym of the verb "to remove."
Wave
Exemple : ‘’Did you not see me wave at you?’’
"Wave" is also a verb but denotes the action of raising one's hand at someone in order to greet someone. It can also be used as a noun relating to the sea and the water which splashes, froths and raises above the rest.
