Match or Mash?

The words "match" and "mash" are often mixed up due to their similar pronounciations. "Match" can have a variety of meanings. It can be used as a noun to denote an item used to light a fire as well as a sporting competition such as a tennis or football match. As a verb it is used as a synonym of "equal."
Exemple : ‘’Could you please mash the potato?’’
"Mash" is a verb used to denote the act of crushing food up, usually after having cooked it. Potatoes are the most commonly mashed food.
